Thrive Thursdays are about supplementation and how to get the most out of it ! Last week we spotlighted fish oil this week is about healthy digestion.
In the words of Mark Twain, “Part of the secret of success in life is to eat what you like and let the food fight it out inside”. While I do enjoy an inexhaustible amount of pleasure from eating, those fights in my stomach can really make me pooped. I’m left wondering, “did I eat the wrong thing?” and though the answer may be yes I’m not always sure who the culprit specifically is.
None of us are immune from digestion issues, but by the same token, nobody wants to admit when we have one. My parents were good enough to offer their time-tested bites of advice like, “If you swallow that gum, it won’t come out” or “Don’t go swimming right after dinner” (both of which are myths). But it may be more beneficial for us to focus on what science has shown to cause indigestion and what we can do to try to avoid it.
